Packaging Viruscan 8.0 Enterprise
We are using the EPO Agent to current deploy Viruscan 8 E. I have viewed some articles on step to work withthe MSI but does anyone have info on applting the MSP to the MSI? I am new to this and have worked with MS Products on applying MSP, but when I do it with Patch11.msp, and then install I do not get a PAtch level listed when I view the property of viruscan.
THanks

Hi GongalezJohnJ,
To create a tailored MSI installation of VirusScan 8 Enterprise, You have the Installation designer for VirusScan. You can download this at McAfee's website.
However I had the same: The patch seems not to be integrated in the installation.
A workaround I used was creating an administrative installation of the MSI and apply the patch to the administrative install.
There is in my opinion however a big issue with patch11; The virusscanner will make Windows very slow on accessing network shares. Accessing files could use several seconds.
This appears when the workstation is a member of a domain. If the workstation is in workgroup-mode this issue is not appearing.
Greetings an good luck
