Packaging with having one file copied to root of c:

I'm trying to deploy an app that needs to have one file copied to the root of C:\

The app installs fine under program files, which is where it's supposed to go.. no problem there. But I'm not having any luck with being able to have one file copied to the root of C:\. I don't see anywhere to allow me to drop a file there..

I'm sure it can be done, just not familiar enough with custom actions, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Heh, this one could actually require some work. I tried to put a file on Destination Computer in Wise 4.62 and it wanted me to create a Desktop folder. So then I dragged an existing file to the root and it nicely crashes. I'm pretty sure this can be done but you might have to manually edit the Directory table. [:@]

If I got some more time I'll play with this tonight.

Short of just doing a setup capture of the file being copied to the root of C: you could manaually set it up. Wise set the file's component directory to WindowsVolume which was a child of TARGETDIR with a default value of ".".
