-r and /r do not work

What do you guys and gals do when the -r or /r option do not create a iss file when you are trying to create an answer file for an installshield installer?

so I run my setup.exe -r or setup.exe /r but I do not ever find a a setup.iss file when I have finished the installation. I know the installer is a Installshield wrapper because it says Installshield when I initially doubleclick setup.exe.

Is there anything that I should be trying different? Is there something specific I need on my machine? Do I need to create that setup.iss file ahead of time and then the app will write to it?

There is an setup.ins file, I dont have Installshield at all I am just looking to make a response file.

Is that what the problem is? I need to have a full version of Installshield loaded on my machine to generate a setupfile?

All the Faq's I have been reading make it look like all I need is to type setup.exe -r to generate the .iss file.

When I do a command of Setup.exe -r it starts the installer and I walk through it but no setup.iss file ever appears.

No, no additional installshield installation is necessary .. by default, Setup.iss is placed in Windows folder once completed the installation.

Thats what I needed to know! I was looking for the setup.iss file to be generated in the folder where the setup.exe was. I didnt know that it would go to my c:\windows directory. I looked there on my system and sure enough there it was!

Thank you a billion times over Bartesque!
