registry permissions

hello friend,

I want to know in detail, how can we give permissions to any registry? what is the path for that? or any different technique?

Hi,

If using Active directory you could go with a Group Policy object and link it to the group for your application.

You could also give the permissions via a packaging tool such as Wise

There are third party tools also to do this job.. but what exactly are you looking for??

I prefer secedit.exe (which is a native Windows tool) to grant permissions on Files/Reg Keys or even Services.

Create a .sdb file, put it in your installation and make a Custom Action with secedit.
