SafeNet iKey 2000

The application in concern has a Vendor Msi ( CIP ) and a Setup ( IkeyDriver.exe) Wrapped in Setup Package.

The application uses ISSCRIPT8, We have customized a Transform for Vendor Msi ( CIP) and Snapshot the Setup ( IKeyDriver ). We 've tried to install both of the above Msi's one after the other. We are not able to replicate the functionality as behaved by the Raw Setup.

I observe on comparing the registries of installed Raw media and my package i could find out two services were started namely Datakey's Token Service (DkTknSrv) and Datakey's Log Service (DkLogger). I included these services in my package, but still the package can't replicate Raw media installation.

I could also find registries in
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais\Readers
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais\Readers\Rainbow Technologies KeyVirtualReader 1

I suspect the Setup is passing some parameters to the ISSCRIPT or Vendor Msi ( CIP ) that's creating all these registries as i could not find any of the registries in my MSI (CIP).

Problem i have is Launch CIPUTILS shortcut, it's not able to read Smart card tokens,it says "No Readers Found" whereas my raw media is able to.

Has anyone successfully been able to Package this applicaton ( SafeNet iKey 2000), which installs CIP Utilities and iKey Driver.

Thanks,
Charan

i'm not familiar with this particular app but last I heard Rainbow put out its own MSI.

Try to get your hands on that and separate it from the main installation.

if you're lucky your main obstacle here will be getting the isscript crap in place or somehow working around that.
