SMA \ Deploy drivers

Hi,

We have >100 Dell Laptop ( 7490 and 7390 2 in 1 ) and we want to install the latest drivers.

How should we proceed? I see under Security ==> Dell Updates that we can install drivers.

Can we create a "package" with all driver and assigen this to a label? If yes, how do we have to do that?

Many thanks for your help

Cheers

since you are using supported devices, it is easy.
It is similar to "normal" patching but uses other 3rd party technology (from Dell instead of Ivanti)

In short:
You setup a regular Dell Detect, which runs on all supported machines (Label or "all")
This will update the database of the driver versions. You can see the results in inventory.
You setup in addition a regular Dell Deploy, which runs on all supported machines (Label or "all"), which update the drivers which need to be updated.

Please be aware that BIOS updates are a little problem if the BIOS version you are using is too old.
The DUP (Dell Update Package) check for a minimal version so it will not run.
Also I cannot suggest to update BIOS with that. If you use a BIOS password, Bitlocker etc you need to prepare the machine beforehand, so the BIOS-Update should be done with a script.
