The error code 2356 (Orca.Msi )
I have installed the SDK, after successful installation, If I try to install Orca.Msi I get the error message with error code 2356. I do not see any issue why I should get this error. Any fix for this issue.

2356 = Could not locate cabinet in stream: [2].
The MSI could be corrupted but seems like a long shoot ;)

I tried installing the Software Development Kit (SDK) for the Microsoft® Windows® Vista™ January 2006 Community Technology Preview (CTP) on 2 different servers.
1. Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2
2. Micorostt Windows 2000 server - service pack 4
I get the same error on both the servers.

Well, get "Windows Server 2003 SP1 Platform SDK" or "Windows Server 2003 R2 Platform SDK" instead.

I am using MS Windows Installer( .msi ), Visual Studio 2005 on Windows XP SP2, and edited the MSI with Orca. The edited installation file works on my development system, but I get the 2356 error message when I copy it to a remote server and attempt to install it. I installed Orca on the remote system ( Windows Server 2000 ), but it still doesn't work. The unedited .msi installs fine.
Any ideas?

ORIGINAL: jagoochIt seems pretty clear to me that your edit unintentionally messed something up. You just learned a very important lesson: never, EVER edit vendor-supplied MSIs, except as a very last resort. Use transforms instead.
The unedited .msi installs fine.

rather than install the SDK & Orca on a server we installed both on a VM XP desktop.
