Using Event Triggers to monitor application deployment

Hello,

I'm new to event triggers but what I'm thinking of doing is putting an event trigger in a log-on script that looks for an application install failure event id and uses a vbscript mailer to send an alert to an e-mail address.

If this works ok, later on I can then have this e-mail our call ticketing system and it will be auto logged for an engineer to investigate.

Just wondering if anyone has tried this or something similar. Perhaps I'm over complicating the situation and there's an easier way of tracking GPO deployments on a number of computers. What do you think?

Cheers,
Cellardoor
