  • Which BIOS settings are you referring to in particular?? - Hobbsy 1 year ago
  • In order to pxe boot a machine. Most machines require the BIOS setting to select AHCI and UEFI in order to allow this function, I may be wrong but maybe someone who has more experience with KACE and imaging machines can answer your question. - ∑$er´åph!mΩ 1 year ago

Yes,

and depending on the model - follow these suggestions: (created for newer models - Optiplex 7080 and 7090's...)

1.    Boot Configuration – to set Boot sequence:
•    Windows Boot Manager
•    UEFI: (hard drive)
•    Onboard NIC (IPV4)
•    Uncheck IPV6 - If you don't plan to use it!
•    Uncheck UEFI HTTPs Boot - if you don't use it!
•     Scroll down to “Secure Boot” to Disable Secure Boot (OFF). Click “Yes” to confirm.
3. Integrated Devices – leave at default;
4. Storage – Sata/NVMe Operation:
Set the operating mode to: AHCI/NVMe (not RAID On)
Click “Yes” to confirm…
      4.1 Scroll down to:
                     SMART Reporting: Enable – ON;
5. Display & 6. Connection – leave at default;
7. Power – (scroll down) Block Sleep – Enable/ON;
      7.1 Desktop ONLY! - Set “Deep Sleep Control” settings to Disable (scroll down);
8. Security – (scroll all the way down): UEFI Boot Path Security set to:
o    Always Except Internal HDD&PXE; leave everything else at default.
9. Passwords – Set “Admin Password” per TS convention*(read below), then scroll
         down -    Admin Setup Lockout – Enable/ON;
10. Update, Recovery – leave at default.
11. System Management – Enter the Asset Tag, tab or enter to confirm;
        11.2 Laptops ONLY - AC Behavior: Wake on AC – ON;
         11.3 – Wake on LAN – set to LAN Only.

Hope this helps!
