Would like to grey out menu otions

I am working on packaging up the latest version of eDrawings (11.4.0.113). I would like to disable/"grey out" the "Check for Updates" option in the help menu. Can anyone offer any help with this?

Does the application even allow that? I doubt it. In these circumstances, your best option is to add the update URL to the list of blocked sites in your firewall.

If it does allow it, your best option is to record the process using a lightweight snapshot tool e.g. InstallWatch and then script the relevant setting(s).

if you dont care about the function at all and just want to change the GUI element, your last resort would be to edit the dialogs with a tool like reshack.
but to disable the autoupdate itself VBScabs approach is the correct one.
btw the user shouldnt even have the rights to change the content of a folder in programfiles, so the update should fail anyway
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
