K2000 - Deploy multiple files from a .zip folder

Hello,

Trying to setup a post install task which will deploy an application which includes a transforms file. I have zipped the .msi and the transforms file and uploaded to K2000. On running the task I get error 1624 - which seems to mean it cannot read the transform file. The syntax I am using is - msiexec.exe /I snagit.msi TRANSFORMS=snagit._updated.mst /quiet /norestart

File uploaded to K2000 - snagit.zip

Do I need to specify the path in a zip file or is there any other change to syntax?

Thanks in advance

  • Make sure that snagit MSI is in the root of the ZIP file and not inside a folder, same for the MST - Channeler 4 years ago
    • Thanks for responding. Yes they are in the root folder - kace_admin 4 years ago

I have found that it is best to place commands that are more involved than "setup.exe /whatever" in a batch file and use that as the command line to launch the installer.

Point your mouse at the image and get the ID and also point at the post task and get that ID

Attach to the samba share on your kbox "\\kbox\peinst"

using the ID from the application navigate to that folder.  I will use ID 1300 for this answer

check the contents to see if looks okay

then navigate to the script for the distribution and post that section for the install
